Japan’s Snow Machine Festival Just Announced Its Debut Lineup With Peking Duk And What So Not

Been a while since you’ve taken a holiday? If you’ve been casually eyeing flights for a couple weeks, may we suggest the snow fields of Hakuba, Japan next March?

New boutique alpine fest Snow Machine will debut in Hakuba, around three and a half hours away from Tokyo, from the 1st-4th of March 2020, and brings a truly stacked lineup to the idyllic mountaintop site of the 1998 Winter Olympics.

The sister festival of Wine Machine features electronic dance legends Peking Duk (doing a DJ set), What So Not and Hermitude, along with the likes of Illy, The Jungle Giants and Confidence Man, plus legendary Japanese artists Kenji Takimi and Shinichi Osawa to name just a few.

“There is no place in the world quite like Japan. From the rich cultural heritage seen everywhere from their amazing hospitality to the architecture and cuisine – Japan is at the top of everyone’s travel list whether it’s first time, or returning,” say the festival’s organisers.

“The much fabled powder Japan receives each season is world leading. Hakuba Valley is the largest alpine mountain-range in Japan and we are thrilled to be announcing this destination holiday event for those who enjoy ramen and onsens with their après.”

Check out the full lineup below. If you’re keen for a snowy getaway, Snow Machine is offering an all-in-one ticket that includes a four-day festival ticket, plus snow passes and hire.
