Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige & More Nominated For 2021 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

It’s a new year, which means there’s a fresh batch of nominees vying for induction in the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

This year, the legendary acts that are in contention are: Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Carole King, Rage Against The Machine, Tina TurnerMary J. Blige, Kate Bush, DevoThe Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Todd Rundgren and Dionne Warwick.

As always, the eligibility criteria requires an artist or band to have released their first commercial recording 25 years ago or more.

A couple of these acts have been nominated in previous years, but there are some notable newbies, like Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Dionne Warwick, Iron Maiden and more.

Of course, fans cast their votes over at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s website. These votes contribute to who is inducted, but don’t dictate the final decision.

2020 saw the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induct Nine Inch Nails, Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex and the Doobie Brothers through a virtual ceremony.
