Jet Bassist Says Band Are Waiting For AC/DC’s Call

Defunct Melbourne rockers Jet appear to be open to reforming in order to support Aussie rock icons AC/DC on their upcoming Rock Or Bust tour, with bassist Mark Wilson saying the band are waiting for AC/DC to contact them.

In May, an anonymous source suggested that Acca Dacca were hoping to get Powderfinger, Silverchair or Jet to reform in order to support their tour, but both Powderfinger and Silverchair distanced themselves from the rumours.

Jet, on the other hand, shared a picture of AC/DC’s tour poster on Facebook (below), with the caption, “Rumours?” Now, when asked about reforming, Wilson has told Triple M‘s Jane Gazzo that he isn’t completely against it.

“I don’t want to put out the fire, but I have no idea yet. I’ll wait for Angus [Young, AC/DC guitarist] to call, because I haven’t heard anything,” Wilson has said.

“I think I’d prefer to get up [on stage] under our own steam but they’re an amazing band and I do love them very much. I think it would be a tough gig to get up before them. I don’t think you’d have the crowd on your side necessarily.”

Wilson added that he’s still in contact with former band mates Cameron Muncey and Nic and Chris Cester. “We’re like brothers. I text Chris all the time. Cam and I live around the corner from each other. We’ve been through a lot together,” he said.

Jet, who Alice Cooper has called “one of the last great rock and roll bands”, called it a day back in 2012 and released their latest album, Shaka Rock, in 2009.

Whether or not Jet do get involved, AC/DC’s Rock or Bust World Tour will hit Australia this November. Catch full tour details, below.
