John Farnham & Daryl Braithwaite To Headline New Australian Festival ‘Anthems’

UPDATE: JOHN FARNHAM & DARYL BRAITHWAITE TO TOUR AUSTRALIA TOGETHER FOR A DAY ON THE GREEN

ORIGINAL STORY: There’s a new all-Aussie festival kicking off in Canberra this year with a star-studded lineup of Australian icons.

The inaugural Anthems Music Festival will feature two of the most Aussie anthem-belters around — 19-time ARIA Award winner John Farnham and 2017 ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Daryl Braithwaite.

We can already hear ‘we’ll be riding on the horses, yeah’ echoing in our ears.

Joining the pair at Anthems on 17th November will be singer-songwriter Kate Ceberano and The Black Sorrows with Melbourne vocal duo Vika & Linda.

The festival will be at the National Arboretum in Canberra, so you can enjoy a beautiful view to soundtrack thousands of people emphatically shouting “YOU’RE THE VOICE, TRY AND UNDERSTAND IT”.

Creators of the festival, Complete Events Group, say John Farnham will perform with his full band.

Complete Events Group Director Matt Clifton has previously owned and produced regional festivals such as VANFEST, which has been running in Forbes in Central West NSW for the past four years.

Clifton says, “We are extremely excited to present this incredible lineup of talent for our debut event in Canberra.

“John Farnham was an obvious choice for Anthems, there is no one more Australian or aptly suited to the Anthems brand. With the collaboration of Daryl Braithwaite, Kate Ceberano and the Black Sorrows accompanying him on the bill, we think this is the ultimate music experience for the old and new generation of fans in the ACT to enjoy.”
