Justin Timberlake Will Release His First New Song In Three Years This Week

Written by Emmy Mack on May 5, 2016

Red Hot Chili Peppers have got some hot competition for Most Anticipated New Release Of The Week.

Justin Timberlake is also dropping a brand new track into our laps over the next few days, entitled Can’t Stop The Feeling.

The boyband alumnus announced the news via Twitter today, revealing that he’d be unleashing the brand spanker in “two more days”, to mark his first new track since 2013’s two-parter LP The 20/20 Experience.

Since then, J-T has been up to all kinds of shenanigans, portraying a giant man-lime on his path to acting greatness, refereeing lip sync battles between Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon and getting sued by Cirque Du Soleil, among others.

And his musical endeavours have been fairly all over the show as well, which means we literally have zero idea about what to expect from his forthcoming slice of tune pie.

The singer recently shared a photo on Instagram showing him in the studio with Pharrell Williams, which could mean some hip-hop, soul or r&b vibes?

But he also retweeted radio station KISS FM, who wrote: “I just heard the new @justintimberlake song!!! OMG! SMASH!!!,” which Rolling Stone reckons could mean he’s gone in a more pop direction?

Then again, he’s also spent some time recently singing duets with Chris Stapleton and collaborating with Little Big Town, so he could be frothing on country right now as well?

Honestly the only solid thing we have to go on is from one US musical pundit, who’s described Can’t Stop The Feeling as “dance MJ meets Bill Withers disco” and packing “hook after hook after hook”.

And while there’s also no word on whether J-T’snew surefire banger means an album is also on the way, or whether it’s just a one-off, hopefully all will be revealed on Friday.

Now all we’ve got to do is play the waiting game.
