Because it’s 2018 and we’re living in a simulation, Kanye West has met with US President Donald Trump at the White House, and gone on an intense 10-minute rant.
While the pair have met in the past, this was the first time they’ve met in the Oval Office, and West took full advantage.
During his time on the floor in front Trump and a group of media, West spoke loudly and erratically about everything from alternate universes to his IQ, why he feels like Superman when he wears his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, his dreams for “Yeezy ideation centres” and an Apple-designed hydrogen-powered presidential plane, as well as why the 13th amendment (which abolished slavery) is apparently a “trap door”.
West and Trump also spoke about more serious topics like racism, violence in West’s home of Chicago and the manufacturing dominance of China, but it was ultimately much ado about nothing.
After West’s rant, a clearly bewildered Trump said, “I tell you what that was pretty impressive… That was quite something,” while some people raised concerns over West’s mental health.
I’m not sure anyone has been more critical of Kanye West than me. But after watching him today, I’m changing my mind. I feel bad for him. He clearly has clinical issues. It’s not that he’s unintelligent or has bad intent, he just desperately needs mental health counseling.

The event with Kanye west in the Oval Office was heartbreaking. The man needs psychological treatment for his bipolar disorder, not being pranced around on a national stage.

At the end of the meeting, Kanye and Trump hugged it out, with Trump telling reporters, “He can speak for me any time he wants. He’s a smart cookie. He gets it.”
Trump also said West “could very well be” a future presidential candidate, because of course he did.
