Kanye West Postpones Presidential Bid After Meeting With Donald Trump

The blow of Donald Trump being elected to the position of President Of The United States has been softened somewhat for those of us hanging onto the fact that just four years from now Kanye West will surely have won office.

Yeezy announced at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards that he’d be running for pres in 2020, but it now appears he has changed his tune after a meeting with The Donald.

Such are Trump’s powers of hypnosis, it seems that after meeting with West he’s managed to convince him that running against him in 2020 would be a bad idea. The two met at Trump Tower in Chicago today, with Trump telling the press afterwards (while Yeezy just stood there awkwardly) that they “spoke about life”, and that he and Kanye had been “friends for a very long time”.

After the meeting, Yeezy took to Twitter to speak in more detail about what the two had discussed, listing “multicultural issues” and “bullying, supporting teachers, modernising curriculums, and violence in Chicago”.

“I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change,” continued Kanye.

E! News also reports that the meeting took place so the two could discuss “a potential role for the rapper,” as “an embassador of sorts”.

Whatever they discussed, Kanye then seemed to announce that his run for President in 2020 has been postponed, tweeting simply “#2024”.

The meeting shouldn’t come as a shock, after Kanye called Trump “a genius” last month and said that had he voted he would have voted for Trump.
