Kanye West Charged With Battery And Attempted Grand Theft

Shit just got real for Kanye West, with arguably the biggest rapper in the world being charged with battery and attempted theft after his alleged assault on paparazzo Daniel Ramos at Los Angeles Airport back in July.

West was already being sued by Ramos, who says K. Widdles came at him unprovoked, attacked him and tried to take his camera off him after he tried to photograph the Black Skinhead performer:

“When Kanye West attacked me, I was in complete shock. All I had done was ask him a question. I was terrified when Kanye started to come at me. I backed up because I felt from the look in his eyes that he was going to attack me.”

His lawyer, high-profile celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, said the attack was sudden and that West had punched Ramos:

“Danny held onto his camera and fell down onto his knees, onto the paved sidewalk with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, was in great pain and had to be transported in an ambulance to the emergency room.”

But prosecutors appear to doubt the severity of Ramos’ injuries, declining to press felony charges as the photographer was discharged from the emergency room the same day of the incident and did not sustain significant injuries.

Yeezy will be arraigned on 10th October on one misdemeanour charge and one of attempted grand theft.
