Kanye West has opened up about the highly-anticipated follow-up to his sixth studio album, this year’s polarising Yeezus, revealing that the new album will contain just eight songs, while hip-hop legend Q-Tip has revealed that he will be producing the new album together with Rick Rubin.
“It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need,” said West. “People say a design is the point where you can’t take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed.” He later added, “I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here.”
Q-Tip, while speaking in an interview with Jay-Z‘s Life And Times blog, revealed his input on the new album, saying, “I’m producing Kanye’s new album with Rick Rubin…that’s coming up.” Noel Gallagher recently declared himself a fan of Yeezus, describing the album as “fucking great.”
