Karnivool Officially Announce First New Album In 12 Years, ‘In Verses’

After more than a decade of waiting, Karnivool fans can finally breathe: the Perth prog titans have announced their long-anticipated fourth studio album, In Verses, set for release on 6th February 2026 via Cymatic Records / Sony Music.

To mark the occasion, the band have dropped brand new single dubbed ‘Aozora’, a live favourite from the band’s recent Aussie tour inspired by the Japanese word for “blue sky”. Frenetic and unrelenting, the track dives into themes of escape and the search for freedom.

“The whole theme for that song is escaping, or waiting to escape,” frontman Ian Kenny explains. “Trying to find freedom amongst the complications of just being human. We’re so weird, you know? Sometimes you end up with more questions than answers.”

Born out of years of experimentation with longtime producer Forrester Savell, In Verses is a culmination of Karnivool’s past 12 years: ten tracks capturing frustration, catharsis and rediscovery.

With three platinum-certified records already under their belt (Themata, Sound Awake and ARIA #1 Asymmetry), Karnivool have become one of Australia’s most influential heavy exports, building a global reputation with shows everywhere from London’s Roundhouse to festivals like Download and Hellfest.

In Verses now marks the next chapter for a band whose music has always thrived on complexity, patience, and reward.

The countdown to February is officially on. Til then, you can pre-order the forthcoming record here.
