Kasabian: “We Created Miley Cyrus, Man. That’s Our Fault.”

Leicester rock outfit Kasbian have made it clear that they’re not huge fans of the Wrecking Ball herself, Miley Cyrus, with two members of the band speaking out about the twerktacular one, declaring her “a fucking nightmare of the 21st century”.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno told NME that he finds the 21-year-old former Disney starlet troubling, with “the way she goes about her business” blowing his mind:

“I don’t really know what that world is man. It’s just a fucking money making thing. We created Miley Cyrus, man. That’s our fault. She’s just a fucking accumulation of internet porn, fucking hip-hop, fucking Disney world. She’s just a fucking nightmare of the 21st century.”

Frontman Tom Meighan has also declared war on Miley, saying “I’ll tell you something – my daughter’s not going to be anything like her. No way.” Meighan made no reference as to whether he would have problems with a hypothetical son emulating Robin Thicke, but presumably has put a down payment on a chastity belt for one year old Mimi.

Cyrus apparently gives no fucks about opinions like Pizzorno and Meighan’s, telling The New York Times she’s playing a character. “I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I’m this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day. It’s like, ‘Has anyone ever heard of rock & roll?’”

Meanwhile Kasabian are preparing to release studio album number five, with the follow-up to 2011’s Velociraptor!, which was influenced by Nirvana, Kanye West and Death Grips, likely to be out June of this year.
