Kesha Opens Reveals Music As A Way to Handle Emotions: ‘Started Writing Songs To Deal With My Emotions’

Kesha has shared a deeply personal reason behind her music career. In a recent Forbes interview, the singer-songwriter, known for her hit “TiK ToK,” revealed that she started writing songs to manage her emotions.

“I started writing songs to deal with my emotions,” Kesha explained. “I’m a highly sensitive person – I’m a triple Pisces, so my feelings are very intense.” She described how she channels her emotions, especially rage, into her music. Instead of letting her anger out in destructive ways, she directs it into songwriting.

Kesha elaborated that working with “incredibly safe people” in the studio helps her transform her feelings into music. “Writing music or making art lets me process my experiences in a safe way,” she said. Sharing her music not only helps her heal but she hopes it can also offer comfort to others.

The artist also expressed gratitude towards her LGBTQ+ fans, highlighting their importance in the music industry. “There would be no pop stars without the Queer community,” she said. Kesha, who is passionate about justice and equal rights, emphasized her commitment to fighting against bullying and advocating for fairness.

Now an independent artist, Kesha has moved on from Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records after a long legal dispute. Her latest album, Joy Ride, is released under her own label, Kesha Records, marking a new chapter in her career.
