Kings Of Convenience are on the lineup for the 2024 Perth festival, which is happening at various venues in Perth from Friday, 9th February to Sunday, 3rd March. The Norwegian folk duo have announced a trio of east coast headline gigs in the lead-up to Perth Festival. It’ll be their first trip to Australia in more than a decade.
Kings Of Convenience’s 2024 Australia tour begins at Melbourne’s Forum on Thursday, 22nd February. They’ll be at the Enmore in Sydney on Saturday, 24th February and Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Monday, 26th February, before wrapping up at The Rechabite, Perth, on Wednesday, 28th February.
Kings Of Convenience – ‘Misread’
Kings Of Convenience released their fourth album, Peace or Love, in June 2021. It was their first release of any kind in more than a decade, and the long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s Declaration of Dependence. The band’s best-known album is 2004’s Riot on an Empty Street, which featured the singles ‘Misread’ and ‘I’d Rather Dance with You’.
Band members Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe have both been busy outside of Kings Of Convenience. As a member of Kommode, Bøe contributed to 2017’s Analog Dance Music. Øye released the solo album Legao in 2014 and the collaborative LP, Quarantine at El Ganzo, with Sebastian Maschat in 2020.
