Lady Gaga is offering a $500,000 USD reward ($635,000 AUD) for the safe return of her two French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav. The dogs were stolen after the alleged perpetrator shot Gaga’s dog walker.
The pop star has been out of the country, in Rome to film a movie. She left her three French bulldogs, Koji, Gustav, and Miss Asia in Hollywood.
Police were called to North Sierra Bonita Avenue at 9:40pm on Wednesday after they received a number of 911 calls. The calls reported a man screaming and sounds of a gunshot, according to the commanding officer of the Hollywood Division, Captain Steven Lurie.
LA’s Police Captain Jonathan Tippett said it’s not clear whether the dog walker was targeted due to his link with Lady Gaga.
Police say a car pulled up alongside the dog walker with two men who tried to steal the dogs. The dog walker apparently tried to fight the men off, when he was shot by one man who used a semi-automatic handgun.
Koji and Gustav were taken, however the third dog Miss Asia managed to get away and was later recovered.
The dog walker was taken to a local hospital in a critical condition.
An anonymous source close with Gaga has said they’re asking anyone who has the dogs to email kojiandgustav@gmail.com to return them for a $500,000 USD reward, no questions asked.
