Lady Gaga has thrown her support behind Kanye West, days after he was hospitalised and placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold.
Gaga took to Twitter telling her followers, “It’s not funny to joke about anyone’s possible or not possible mental illness, this is a sensitive time for many. Let’s be kind & loving.”
She then directly turned her attention to Kanye writing, “While I don’t agree with everything he does I hope the public shows compassion and ❤️ for [Kanye] and each other. One love. One Race.”
“I support & love u brother, I see in you bravery & courage to stop this tour & take care of YOU. You are a GREAT artist.”
West was taken to hospital earlier in the week suffering from, “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration,” as TMZ reported.
It came after a number of strange shows in which he revealed he would’ve voted for Donald Trump if he had voted and also ranted about Beyoncé and Jay Z, before leaving a show 30 minutes into it.
Chance The Rapper threw his support behind Kanye during a performance on BBC Radio 1, sending prayers towards the rapper who he has collaborated with on multiple occasions.
“I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain. We might come home early to see this man. Happy Thanksgiving.”
Following that, Chance cancelled the rest of his European tour date citing “personal reasons”.
Kanye is reportedly doing “much better,” according to an ET Online report.
