Laneway Festival have announced the line-up for its 2025 iteration, returning next February with a batch of exclusive international headliners. At the top of the list (as teased last week) is Charli XCX, who returns to Australia for the first time in nearly two years – as well as returning to Laneway after serving as one of its marquee acts in 2020 alongside headliners The 1975. The English pop singer’s return comes in support of her sixth studio album brat, which has become one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of the year through memes, TikTok dances and critical acclaim.
Other artists that are exclusive to the festival include American indie singer-songwriter Clairo – who is finally set to tour following her scrapped 2020 tour plans – as well as English alternative pop artist Beabadoobee, Scottish producer/DJ Barry Can’t Swim and UK dance duo Bicep, presenting a new audio-visual DJ set entitled Chroma.

There are also a series of artists that will be performing in Australia for the very first time as part of the festival. This includes American hip-hop duo Joey Valence & Brae, UK soul singer Olivia Dean and Filipino artist Eyedress – who was meant to play Laneway earlier this year, but was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.
Laneway formally announced its return last week (October 5th), confirming its dates and venues as well as the date for its line-up announcement. It was one of the few major festivals to run successfully earlier this year, with a line-up that featured acts such as Stormzy, Dominic Fike, Steve Lacy, Hemlocke Springs, Paris Texas and Faye Webster, among others.
