Laneway Festival Launch First Episode Of New Podcast Featuring Future Classic Heads

Laneway Festival co-founder Danny Rogers and A&R guy Dom O’Connor have added another notch to their belts, launching a podcast aiming to give a snapshot into the industry.

The podcast called Side Of Stage, “will feature wide-ranging conversations with some of the people who inspire us most,” as the pair said on Facebook.

Their first episode features Future Classic heads Nathan McLay and Chad Gillard who talk Rogers and O’Conner through the beginnings of Future Classic and how they operate now.

Future Classic have given Laneway Festival headliners two years in a row now. Flume closed this year’s event while Nick Murphy is co-headlining next year’s bill with Tame Impala.

They also have a stage at the festival and this year will host Jagwar Ma, Clams Casino, Sampa The Great and more on their stage.

The podcast is essentially focussed on the industry but it’s very interesting for anyone that is generally intrigued by that world or for anyone who wants to break into the industry.

Rogers and O’Connor speak about Flume in the podcast looking back on his first Splendour In The Grass saying, “it was like a breakout moment.”

“It was like holy shit people really care about this, it’s really a thing.”
