Critically acclaimed music legend Leonard Cohen has just announced his 2013 return to Australia this November and December, bringing his enigmatic live show to all of the major cities, as well as regional shows in Cairns, Townsville and Wollongong.
Cohen will also be playing two Day On The Green shows – one at Hunter Valley’s Bimbadgen Winery in New South Wales and another at Geelong’s The Hill Winery in Victoria – and will be backed by his incredible 9-piece band, including Sharon Robinson, the infamous Webb Sisters and musical director Roscoe Beck.
With a career spanning six decades, the 78-year-old poet, writer and troubadour has been covered by everybody from Jeff Buckley to Nick Cave. The Hallelujah singer-songwriter returned to the stage in 2008 after taking 15 years off from touring and last performed Down Under in 2010, with his iconic performance at Hanging Rock winning the Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert.
Tickets for Leonard Cohen’s Australian tour go on sale to the general public via Ticketek at 10:00am AEST on Monday, 12th August. Presale tickets for all shows except the two Day On The Green dates will be available here to Visa card holders from 11:00am AEST on Tuesday, 6th August until 11:00am AEST on Thursday, 8th August or until presale tickets sell out.
UPDATE: Following an overwhelming demand from fans, eager to see the man in the flesh, Leonard Cohen and The Frontier Touring Company have announced the addition of second shows for Melbourne and Sydney. These dates now join Cohen’s most extensive Australian tour to date.
Following his first Sydney performance, Cohen will take the stage at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Sunday, 17th November. Melbourne audiences will be treated to their second chance to see the legend at Rod Laver Arena on Monday, 9th December.

UPDATE 2:The newly announced Sydney show has now been rescheduled for the following Monday, 2nd December, and is now being held at the Sydney Opera House while the Melbourne show slated for Monday, 7th December will go ahead on the scheduled dat though will now be at the Palais Theatre.
