In anticipation of the re-release of the entire My Bloody Valentine discography, the band has been very busy arranging a vast amount of content for fans to sink their teeth into in the meantime.
The latest is a remastered version of the 1991 album Loveless, the last release from the band, which was rumoured to have almost bankrupted their record label Creation. But the album was met with massive support from the fans. Loveless was remastered by vocalist and guitarist Kevin Shields, who has gained a reputation for his high level of standards throughout the band’s career.
The remastered Loveless is available for stream from The Guardian’s website and will be joined by a remastered version of another classic My Bloody Valentine album Isn’t Anything as well as previously unheard tracks, featured in a complication of their EPs between 1988-1991.
Die hard fans will probably be somewhat apprehensive, as it has now been four years since word of this project began to spread, and amounted to nothing back in 2008. It’s looking as though the band will be repaying these fans for the four-year gap with touched-up classics as well as never-before-heard gems.
Shields has confirmed that he has been working on a third MBV LP to be released this year, comprising material from the 90s era of the band.
