Stonefield have just dropped their brand new single Stranger, taken from their soon to be released second album.
According to Amy Findlay, the singing sister of the four Findlay sisters that make up Stonefield, Stranger gives us a taste of their new, bold sound: “It was one of the last songs written for the record and has a feel that we hadn’t yet written with.”
Compared to their debut 2013, Stranger is preparing us for a more psychedelic type of rock, delivering their already established sound with a little more force. And there’s no better timing to do so than on their return to Oz after living the dream, playing SXSW along with a bunch of other headlining US shows.
This track follows on from last year’s taste of the new album, Golden Dream, a track co-written by Spiderbait’s Kram. “Because the four sisters have grown up together… I wanted to catch that whole essence of where the band comes from and it really improved a lot of the work,” he told triple j at the time.
