How good: Avril Lavigne and MOD SUN have shared their hugely anticipated collab today. ‘Flames’ is a catchy bop that mashes pop sensibilities with emo AF lyrics and vocals. It’s a real treat.
The news follows last year’s hype. In December last year, Avril Lavigne posted a photo of her, MOD SUN, and Machine Gun Kelly to Instagram saying, “So are we ready for new music in the new year or what? Lemme know…..”
She excited the shit out emos everywhere, after a couple of Instagram posts showed her working with the aforementioned pair, as welll as Goldfinger’s John Feldmann.
We now have ‘Flames’, a track taken from MOD SUN’s forthcoming, fourth studio album.
It follows ‘Bones’ and ‘Karma’.

Alt Press has revealed that hopes of a new pop punk Avril Lavigne album aren’t lost though.
Speaking to Alt Press, We The Kings frontman Travis Clark reportedly told the publication he’d been working with MGK and Avril.
“[With Avril], she was like, ‘Hey, I see that you post pictures with your buddy Machine Gun Kelly. Do you think you would want to write?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah!’
“So I texted him. I was like, ‘Yo, you want to work on a couple [of] songs with me and Avril for her record?’ And he said, ‘Absolutely.’ So that all parlayed and ended up snowballing into each other.
“I end up in really cool sessions that I just never thought I would ever really be a part of.”
Huuuuuge.
