Listen: Violent Soho Drop New Single ‘Tinkerbox’

Having recently signed to I OH YOU records, Queensland natives Violent Soho have been hard at work, emerging from the studio with the first sample of their soon-to-be-released double a-side 7”.

The single, titled Tinkerbox, is set to be featured on the band’s release, which is yet to score an official drop date, but has a horde of fans all over the world, mouths open, waiting for the latest instalment from one of the most successful Aussie exports in recent years.

Their 2008 debut We Don’t Belong Here caught the attention of Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore (Who, by the way is set to tour here very soon). And the rest, as they say is history! Having signed to Moore’s label, Ecstatic Peace! the band from small town QLD hit the international stage, touring with the likes of Dinosaur Jr, The Bronx, Built to Spill, and Alice in Chains, as well as personally being hit up by UK’s All Tomorrow’s Parties top dog who requested they play at his festival.

The track itself sees the band pick up right where they left off, bringing with them their punk-rock fuzz poured all over their effortlessly well-structured composition.

This will be the first new material from the band since their second release through Ecstatic Peace!, 2010’s self-titled album. The tune can be heard through the band’s SoundCloud, but you can check it out below. And prepare for news of the up-and-coming 7″.
