The Yeah Yeah Yeahs brand-spanker Sacrilege has made its way online for your listening pleasure. The new track was debuted on BBC with Zane Lowe and is the lead single off upcoming LP, Mosquito.
Built around the distinctive voice of Karen O, the song is instantly accessible and continually adds layers as it builds towards a powerful ending with what sounds like a gospel choir punching home the notion of the violation of the sacrosanct.
Although this is the first official single from Yeah Yeah Yeahs fourth studio album, Sacrilege is actually the third song from Mosquito that been revealed by the band so far. Last month during a show at the Glass House in California footage emerged of new songs Earth and title track Mosquito.
As for the album, Mosquito is expected to hit shelves 16th April with producers Nick Launay, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio each lending a hand.
