Marilyn Manson Splits From Bassist Twiggy Ramirez After Rape Allegations

UPDATE: Marilyn Manson’s Former Bassist Twiggy Ramirez Releases Statement Following Rape Allegations

ORIGINAL STORY: Marilyn Manson (real name Brian Warner) has announced that he is parting ways with his longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez (real name Jeordie White), after White was accused of rape and sexual assault by his ex-girlfriend and Jack Off Jill frontwoman Jessicka Addams.

“I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson,” Warner says in a statement.

“He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.”

Earlier this week, Addams alleged that her romantic relationship with White — which began when she was 18 — eventually became physically and emotionally abusive and culminated with rape.

At the time of the allegations, Warner released a statement saying that he “knew nothing about these allegations until very recently” and that he was “saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress”.

White is yet to respond to Warner’s latest statement about his removal from the band.

Earlier today, Warner revealed that he “wants” to tour Australia off the back of his latest album Heaven Upside Down, but isn’t keen on performing at outdoor festivals.

Marilyn Manson last toured Australia around Soundwave Festival in 2015. The band’s original guitarist, Scott ‘Daisy Berkowitz’ Putesky, also passed away this week at the age of 49.
