Lucky jerk Mark Ronson has been treated to a sneak peek of some new Tame Impala music and he’s naturally rubbing it in all of our faces.
Speaking with NME, the Uptown Funkster described the Aussie psych champs’ fresh material as “mind-blowing”, adding that “it sounded amazing, like that’s a surprise to anyone”.
It comes as the dynamite duo of Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker are back up to their old tricks, joining forces once again in the name of truth, justice and straight-up bangers.
Ronson has confirmed that hiss BFF Kev will — to everyone’s joy but no one’s real surprise — be featuring on his new album.
“We have a song that we wrote together for my record called ‘Laurie’ that we’re working on,” he revealed to NME.
But KP isn’t the only star involved in proceedings. The appropriately hyped follow-up to Ronson’s 2015 juggernaut LP Uptown Special will also feature high-profile collabs from the likes of King Princess, Lykke Li, and Yebba (apparently delivering wall-to-wall “sad bangers”).
We’ve already heard the first cut, the Miley Cyrus-featuring ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’.
Ronson’s upcoming fifth studio album has yet to be given a title or a release date, but we’ll keep you posted on both.
ICYMI: the super producer’s last LP featured no less than three Kevin Parker collabs: ‘Daffodils’, ‘Leaving Los Feliz’ and ‘Summer Breaking’.
It also saw Kev join Ronson for his 2015 Australian tour, including his headlining Splendour In The Grass set and triple J Like A Version performance.
