Mars On Holiday Release New Single ‘We’re Gonna Change’

Australian band Mars On Holiday released their new single, ‘We’re Gonna Change on February 7th. The song has dreamy pop vibes, which instantly leaves a lasting impression on the listeners.

Originally conceived as a solo project by frontman Dane Pavic during the 2021 lockdown in Melbourne, Mars On Holiday evolved into a collaborative effort upon his return to Perth. Pavic, seeking to break free from the confines of a single genre, invited friends Daniel Chan, Jack Schubert, and Maks Pavic to join him. Their aim was to explore experimental sounds while maintaining strong, structured songwriting.’

Mars On Holiday – “We’re Gonna Change”

“We’re Gonna Change” delves into the inevitable transition from the honeymoon phase of a relationship to a sense of drifting apart. Dane Pavic reflects on this theme, saying, “Deep down you know it’s probably wishful thinking – but this time it’ll be different…right?”

The track was independently recorded and later mixed by Aria award-winning producer Steven Schram, known for his work with artists like Paul Kelly and San Cisco. Schram’s touch adds a lush texture to the song, elevating Mars On Holiday into the realm of genre heavyweights like Tame Impala and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.

Accompanying the release is a high-quality music video, shot amidst sand dunes with self-programmed lighting. Despite initial doubts, the end result perfectly captures the band’s vision.

The band share a statement via a press release “We’re really lucky in WA to have such diverse and amazing scenery within a few hours drive of Perth – so we always try to take advantage of this when shooting videos,” Further adding, “We had this idea in our heads of sand dunes blanketed by a sea of neon lights, but had absolutely no idea how to do it.”
