Megadeth’s frontman Dave Mustaine has taken the time during a gig in Singapore to express his views on the recent violent tragedies of the cinema shooting in Aurora, Colorado; and the Wisconsin Sikh Temple murders. While conversing with the crowd during Megadeth’s performance at Fort Canning in Singapore on August 7, Mustaine has suggested both incidents were a deliberate act by President Obama so that stricter gun control laws can be passed and enforced in the United States.
The back and forth with the crowd began harmlessly enough, with Mustaine joking with the crowd and making lighthearted fun of a fan who threw their shoe onstage. However, after a few minutes of talking with the audience, Mustaine seemingly without provocation launches into his conspiracy theories.
“Back in my country, my president is trying to pass a gun ban, so he’s staging all of these murders,” Mustaine informs those in attendance, “Like the ‘Fast and Furious’ thing down at the border and Aurora, Colorado, all the people that were killed there and now the beautiful people at the Sikh temple”.
“I don’t know where I’m gonna live if America keeps going the way it’s going because it looks like it’s turning into Nazi America.”
The story first broke via Blabbermouth and has since spread throughout numerous major media outlets. The New York Daily News described Mustaine as a ‘Megaidiot’ while the AV Club labelled the outspoken singer as a “total idiot shitbag”.
