Melbourne is getting a new music venue next year from the good people at Novel, who are behind festivals like Pitch Music & Arts Festival, Let Them Eat Cake and Days Like This.
The venue, called B3, is located in a never-before-used space with a capacity of 5,000. Its exact location is yet to be revealed, but it’s said to be near the Melbourne CBD.
“One aspect sorely lacking in Melbourne’s nightlife is an inner-city location suitable for large-scale, indoor events,” says Novel Director Daniel Teuma about the new space. “We are extremely confident that we have found the right venue to fill that gap.”
B3 is going to only be used for special occasions, promising just three events a year, and you can be pretty confident they’ll be one of a kind.
The sound will be provided by Full Throttle, who oversee sound at festivals like Rainbow Serpent and Pitch, while lighting and installations will be handled by Colourblind, who have an incredible resumé that includes Flume and Flight Facilities.
No word yet on when the first event will be announced, but we’re told “all will be revealed soon”.
