Melvins, ATDI & Le Butcherettes Supergroup Crystal Fairy Announce Debut Album, Share ‘Drugs On The Bus’

A new supergroup is in our midst. Crystal Fairy, comprised of some of heavy music’s must notable mavens, comes bearing not just their debut single Drugs On The Bus, but also the announcement of a self-titled full-length album to follow.

Crystal Fairy is Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover of Melvins, Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes and Omar Rodríguez-López, because it’s not a real supergroup unless you have a member of The Mars Volta / At The Drive-In.

As the story goes, the group first took form earlier in the year when Le Butcherettes were touring with Melvins. Teri would join the headline act on stage for a rendition of Bikini Kills’ Rebel Girl. Gender Bender fleshed things out in a statement (via Consequence Of Sound), adding:

“Through the travels, the Melvins and Omar connected as well. Sometimes, Omar and I would fantasize loudly of hopefully being able to form a [group] together. Before we knew it, we were writing music in the studio (both in El Paso and L.A.) and birthed a magical little gem that I am extremely proud to be a part of.”

So there you have it.

Today, we can spin the first single Drugs On The Bus (below) in anticipation of their debut self-titled album, which drops on Friday, 24th February 2017.
