Singer-songwriter Missy Higgins has been announced as the musical guest for this Saturday’s AFL Women’s Grand Final between the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions.
Higgins is set to take over the role from Megan Washington (who performed at last year’s Women’s Grand Final), and will be performing her classic hit ‘Scar’ and new song ‘Futon Couch’, from upcoming album Solastalgia.
“I grew up as a huge footy fan, going to matches all the time, and at one stage I was even the only girl in my primary school footy team, so I’m super-excited and honoured to be playing the AFLW Grand Final,” says Higgins.
The AFLW Grand Final will take place at Melbourne’s Ikon Park on Saturday, 24th March from 12:35pm AEDT. Entry is free, with gates opening at 11am AEDT.
Missy Higgins is also scheduled to tour the country in support of Solastalgia in May, after supporting Ed Sheeran’s latest Aussie tour.
