Monster Magnet Australian Tour 2014 Announced

New Jersey stoner rock kings Monster Magnet are bringing their hefty mix of ’60s psychedelia and ’70s riffage back to Australia in 2014, with founder Dave Wyndorf rounding up the troops and dropping dates for a national tour this April.

With nine albums under their belt and 25 years in the game, Monster Magnet are truly the masters of sludgy, feedback-heavy hard rock. They’ve achieved international success with smash singles like Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Space Lord and become a household name following tours with the likes of Aerosmith and Metallica.

Frontman Wyndorf says latest release Last Patrol sees the outfit return to their roots:

“The songs are a kind of Space-Noir, tales of cosmic revenge, peaking libidos, alienation and epic strangeness. It’s a weird trip through the back alleys of a dark, retro-future, which not by coincidence very much resembles my own life.”

Monster Magnet kick off the Down Under invasion at Amplifier in Perth on 3 April, before hitting up Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
