Muse’s Dom Howard: “Seven Day Countdown To Album Number Seven”

Muse drummer Dom Howard has riled up fans with a mysterious and teasing tagline on his newly minted Instagram account. “Seven day countdown to album number seven,” reads Howard’s description on the popular social media service, though it’s doubtful the missive means what fans are hoping it does.

The description appears alongside a link to the band’s website, which doesn’t reveal any new details about the band’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2012’s The 2nd Law. Posted on 25th September, the description likely means that the band are set to enter the studio to begin recording in the coming days.

Currently, it seems highly unlikely that Muse will release their seventh album this week. The band first began work on their 2nd Law follow-up back in May with no expected date of release. In April, Howard told interviewers, “If we can get something out this year, that would be great, but definitely next year.”

Frontman Matt Bellamy has been keeping busy on his own social media channels, updating fans on the progress of the new album. The singer and guitarist recently revealed that the new back-to-basics album will deal with “deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3” and will contain guitar solos.
