Despite a catalogue that could only be regarded as solid for such a young group, including two EPs and a string of single releases, most are still struggling to pin down the very particular sound of The Upskirts. Maybe it’ll be easier when they come in to play for Music Feeds LIVE this Friday?
Across their releases, these four eager Sydney boys have dabbled with swathes of psychedelic textures, beach-ready surf rock guitar riffs, frenetic and sweat-drenched post-punk crowd terrorism, and some good old fashioned garage pop grooves to make a sound that is entirely theirs.
The band are renowned for the excitement and enthusiasm they bring into the studio and the live stage, with fans that are increasingly hungry for their forthcoming record, which was tracked with Woody Annison (Hunting Grounds, Children Collide) and Tim Carr (Urthboy, Ernest Ellis).
To hear why this Sydney outfit has shared stages with the likes of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Rubens, Wolf & Cub, and many more, tune in right here around 12:30pm this Friday, 4th April when The Upskirts come into Music Feeds Studio for a performance and interview.
