My Chemical Romance have addressed the tragic death of their former drummer Bob Bryar in a public statement.
The 44-year-old, who was the emo act’s longest serving drummer, was found dead inside his Tennessee home last Tuesday, three weeks after he was last seen alive. According to TMZ, Bryar’s cause of death remains unknown, but police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
“May he rest in peace”
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance,” the band wrote in a post on social media. “We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace.”
A medical examiner will now perform an autopsy to determine Bryar’s cause of death, but reportedly no foul play is suspected, as all of Bryar’s valuables, guns and music equipment were found untouched inside his home.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance following the release of their Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge LP in 2004, replacing drummer Matt Pelissier.
He was involved in their most iconic album, 2006’s The Black Parade and spent six years behind the kit for the band including their appearance at the 2007 Big Day Out, before they ultimately parted ways 2010.
