Nas Scales The Sydney Skyline With Bliss N Eso For ‘I Am Somebody’ Video

Aussie hip hop crew Bliss N Eso have unveiled their action-packed video for single I Am Somebody, featuring a guest appearance from none other than New York hip hop giant Nas.

The track itself, lifted from BNE’s fifth studio album Circus In The Sky, also features an appearance from the Illmatic icon and — as if it was ever in doubt — it’s now pretty clear that the Aussie hip hop legends can’t believe their luck.

“This man right here is one of the reasons why we got into hip hop,” wrote Bliss N Eso on their Facebook page. “20 years ago he released one of the the all time greatest hip hop albums, Illmatic. It was a true honour to work with Nasty NAS from Queensbridge.”

Nas is indeed celebrating the 20th anniversary of his landmark East Coast hip hop debut record Illmatic, that produced seminal tracks like One Love, NY State of Mind and It Ain’t Hard to Tell. The album’s content was celebrated for Nas’ masterful ability to balance of the idea of self-determinism with the harsh reality of staying alive in a dangerous world.

Bliss N Eso are on the tail end of a monster tour of Oz, taking their Circus Under The Stars show to 15 regional and capital locations for a series of outdoor events alongside Horrorshow and Seth Sentry.

The big question remains though – why is Nas wearing a neck brace? Perhaps he was trying out some of the clip’s gnarly parkour moves and things got a little hairy. Who knows? Stay tuned for more Aus Hip Hop Mysteries, and check out the new video below.
