Nearly 100 COVID Cases Linked To Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Party In Sydney

With the festive season in full swing and next year looking markedly better than the rest of the 20’s there are plenty of reasons to celebrate, but as some Taylor Swift fans found out the hard way, the world is still unpredictable.

A recent ‘Red’ party in Sydney, commemorating the re-release of Swift’s seminal folk-pop masterpiece, has been labeled a super spreader event, with nearly 100 COVID-19 cases linked to the night.

Held at The Metro Theatre on December 10, the party was attended by over 600 people, 97 of which have become infected with a statement from NSW Health confirming that it is “likely” some cases are the Omricron variant.

All attendees have been told to get tested and isolate for 7 days – but given the event was 7 days ago the horse may have bolted.

Household contacts of those at the event are also required to test and isolate until they receive a negative result.

The event is no doubt the first of many that will be affected by living with COVID, with rising case numbers accompanying the return of live music and full capacity events across the country.
