Neil Young Cancels 2017 Australian Headline Tour

Fans hoping to see the great Neil Young perform at stages across the nation next year are in for a broken heart, now that the legendary muso has backed out of his previously announced plans for an Aussie headline tour.

Concert giants Frontier Touring had previously plugged a forthcoming tour from Young and his backing band Promise Of The Real, proclaiming that “Neil Young, one of rock’s most revered songwriters and performers, will be returning to Australia and New Zealand in 2017 for his first shows down under in four years”, adding that Young would be performing “headline dates in both countries, including indoor arenas and special outdoor shows”.

However, Frontier have now backflipped on that big announcement, telling fans:

“We regret to advise that Neil Young will unfortunately no longer be undertaking a 2017 AU/NZ headline tour as previously teased on socials.”

But ~don’t let it bring you down~, because Young is still expected to be heading down under in 2017 for Byron Bay Bluesfest. Bluesfest organisers have declined to comment to Music Feeds regarding Young’s place on the festival’s 2017 lineup.

For now, those of you who are up for a trip out to NSW North Coast can still get your hands on tickets. Catch the full Bluesfest 2017 lineup and ticketing deets, below.
