Melbourne noiseniks Witch Hats are reportedly set to emerge with a second album, the follow-up to their 2008 debut Cellulite Soul.
Mess and Noise reports that the new LP has the initial title of Enchantment Under The Sea Dance, and was recorded over seven days at Head-Gap studios in Preston, Melbourne. The album was produced by Casey Rice, who also worked with the Dirty Three, Tortoise and Ben Lee.
“The sound is probably somewhere in between our first album’s studio sound and our second EP [Solarium Down The Causeway’s] ratty warehouse sound,” bassist Ash Bunscombe is quoted as saying. “The album is more song focused than the noise from the past few recordings, but still packs the dirge in on most tracks.”
The record is yet to receive a release date.
