When the list of nominations for the prestigious Mercury Prize was announced last month, it had its usual mix of mainstream contenders as well as some picks that may have surprised a few folk. One of these was Jon Hopkins and King Creosote for their excellent collaboration album Diamond Mine.
It has now been announced that the duo will be following up that album with the release of a new EP on September 20, entitled Honest Words. As Consequence of Sound reports, the EP will feature two new songs as well as a new version of the track Bats In The Attic, which appeared on Diamond Mine. The EP will be available on vinyl and, thankfully for Australians, via digital download.
King Creosote (aka Kenny Anderson) has enjoyed an acclaimed career as a member of Fife’s Fence Collective stable of artists, while Hopkins, the rather less known partner, is among the most respected electronica producers in the UK.
