Noel Gallagher And Damon Albarn “Working Together On A Lot Of Stuff”, Says Blur Bassist

Blur bass player Alex James has revealed that Britpop rivals soul mates Noel Gallagher, formerly of Oasis, and Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn have been working on a collaboration.

Speaking to the website for the Hungarian Sziget Festival, ahead of Blur’s headlining set, James spoke of the rivalry between the two artists, insisting that any bad blood was in the past:

“Damon and Noel Gallagher are working together on a lot of stuff, so whatever was back then is not relevant anymore. But we have to add that young bands today are all very nice. We were totally intolerable.”

It’s unclear at the moment just what the two UK rock legends are apparently “working on”. Relations between the two were first revealed to be amicable after the pair performed together at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity event which has also seen Gallagher perform with the likes of Chris Martin and Paul Weller.

With Gallagher and Albarn “like best mates now,” according to James, any collaboration between the two will surely get fans salivating.

It’s not yet clear what spurred the reconciliation though we speculate Noel simply finds it easier to work with a rival than with Liam Gallagher.
