Well, well well. The song from hell that lives very forcefully rent free in our heads, ‘Baby Shark’, is entering the NFT space, with creators Pinkfong announcing the news today.
The creative company is launching the popular kids phenomenon on the digital art platform MakersPlace, debuting with six artworks. They’ll go on sale on Thursday, 2nd December at 3:30PM PST.
The collection is a collaboration between Pinkfong’s parent company SmartStudy, and Pinkfong’s world music partner Sony Music Entertainment/Relentless Records.
Of the six pieces in the collection, one is a completely unique piece, with the remaining five being limited edition. They’re currently previewing over on MakersPlace.
The five limited edition pieces feature Baby Shark and his various family members in original, looped animations that have been inspired by holographic collectors cards.
The unique piece going up for sale is a one-minute long NFT that shows Baby Shark weaving “through a newly reimagined dream-like underwater world, seen through a lens that portrays Baby Shark in a captivating new light.”
The music dubbed over the unique NFT was described by Pinkfong as “a classically composed, bespoke, electronic movement built around,” with the winner of the unique piece receiving a one of one custom vinyl that will feature the musical accompaniment.
