Oh God, The Chainsmokers Are Touring Australia This Year

UPDATE: The Chainsmokers have now announced their 2017 Australian tour dates.

ORIGINAL STORY: American EDM bros and dudes who “like hot chicks in yoga pants”, The Chainsmokers, have announced that they’re preparing to tour Australia later this year as part of their Memories Do Not Open tour, and we’re not sure how to feel.

Speaking with Nova, the New York duo say they’ll return down under in the coming months, whether you want them to or not.

“We’re coming this fall,” says one half of the group, Alex Pall. “I’m not going to be more specific than that but we’re coming back in the fall.”

By “the fall”, Pall means Australia’s spring, which is between September and October. If the duo are actually coming down under during that time, it’s likely that tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We always used to go in the winter,” says Pall’s bandmate, Andrew Taggart. “Like your winter, our summer. It’s really frustrating.”

The Chainsmokers toured Australia last April, when one of their Sydney shows was shut down after fans got a little too turnt and rushed the stage.

The duo also caused controversy last year with some sexist tweets, as well as comments like this one, taken from an interview with Billboard:

“Even before success, pussy was number one. Like, ‘Why am I trying to make all this money?’ I wanted to hook up with hotter girls. I had to date a model.”

Yep, we’re just gonna let that sink in.
