Olivia Newton-John Wants To Help Sia Break Her No-Touring Policy

Australian music icon Olivia Newton-John has offered to help Sia end the no-touring policy which has plagued fans of the Chandelier singer for years, and also revealed she’d like to write new tunes with the Adelaide-born singer-songwriter.

When Sia explained that she might be rethinking her no-touring policy earlier this year, she jokingly suggested that Newtown-John might be able to help her out.

“I don’t care about [playing live] so I’ll throw the most ludicrous idea out and say say ‘I’ll do a live show if you can get Olivia Newton John to perform with me’, because that’s my childhood dream,” Sia said at the time.

Now, Newtown-John has told News Corp Australia she is willing to help Sia’s dream become reality. “I’d get on stage with [Sia], it’d be a big thrill to sing with her for me too, so hopefully one day,” Newton-John has said.

Newton-John also mentioned she’d be keen to write new music with Sia. “That would be awesome,” she said.

Interestingly, the two Aussie songstresses met up earlier this month, when Sia attended one of Newton-John’s performances in Las Vegas. The pair even posed for a super-cute photo together (above).

“She’s an adorable lady,” Newton-John said of her guest, before offering her thoughts on Sia’s reluctance to perform live.

“I can relate, she’s afraid of performing live and I was like that for years,” Newtown-John said. “She’s very fortunate in this time, because of social media she doesn’t have to perform live if she doesn’t want to. But I think she’s getting very tempted to do it again, so we’ll see if she does.”

Newton-John says she and Sia will be meeting up again in Tokyo soon, where they’ll “get to know each other better”.

Sia’s “much more pop” new album This Is Acting has already been written and recorded. Her latest full-length release, 1000 Forms Of Fear, helped her (and Pete Wentz) make history at the APRA Music Awards earlier this month.
