Last year, Auto-Tune pioneer T-Pain made jaws drop with his studio cover of a metal classic. The popstar delivered a heavy, bluesy rendition of Black Sabbath‘s iconic ‘War Pigs’, letting his naturally soulful vocal chops shine through.
The cover wowed fans and converted critics, giving big Living Colour vibes. And now, the metal godfather himself Ozzy Osbourne has weighed in, giving T-Pain his unholy blessing.
T-Pain – ‘War Pigs’
“This is the best cover of ‘War Pigs’ ever. Why didn’t you guys call me?” Ozzy tweeted on X, sharing a live video of T-Pain performing the cover.
Luckily for Aussie fans, T-Pain is currently in town touring as part of the lineup for R&B extravaganza Juicy Fest, joining a lineup that also features R&B star Ashanti, T.I., The Game, Trey Songz, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and more.
The fest has already ticked off stops in Sydney and Melbourne and is hitting Perth today, before visiting fans in Adelaide and the Gold Coast next week.
Sadly though, no punters have updated setlist.fm with details of T-Pain’s set, so we don’t know if he’s been treating Aussie fans to the ‘War Pigs’ cover live.
But you can catch the footage Ozzy shared down below.
