Passenger Has Joined Ed Sheeran’s Australian Tour

Michael David Rosenberg, better known to Australians as Passenger, will tour Australia for the second time in December 2015, playing Australian stadiums in support of Ed Sheeran‘s own return visit to Australia this year.

The Let Her Go troubador, a frequent visitor to Australia, was just in the country this January, packing out Sydney’s Qantas Credit Union Arena and theatre venues by himself on that tour.

This time around he’ll join Sheeran, soulful UK drum and bass purveyors Rudimental and Northern Irishman Foy Vance in even larger venues in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Passenger is returning to charm audiences with his sparkling wit and acoustic guitar armed with tunes from Whispers II, his sixth album released earlier this month.

The Englishman told us when he was here in January that he feels a special affinity with our country.

“I used to come play all over the place in Australia,” he said. “I used to stay here for 6 or 9 months at a time… and play all sorts of regional shows and busk everywhere.”

“Half of me feels like a domestic act because I’ve been here for so long.”

He’s also a longtime friend of Sheeran’s. The pair met 10 years ago and have toured and collaborated together since. With Vance and Sheeran also known to perform together, and Rudimental and Vance themselves collaborating on recent single Never Let Me Go, you can expect these to be pretty special shows.

Taylor Swift’s in the country at the same time as well. Just sayin’. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. Details for all dates are below.

UPDATE 05/05/15: An extra show in Melbourne has been added to Ed Sheeran’s 2015 Australian tour after the first one at AAMI Park sold out. See tour details below.
