Paul Kelly Extends His ‘Merri Soul Sessions’ National Tour

Paul Kelly‘s Merri Soul Sessions shows are proving to be a great success with the Aussie legend adding another handful of dates to the tour.

The new dates for The Merri Soul Sessions, which see Kelly team up with Dan Sultan, Clairy Brown, Kira Puru, Vika Bull and Linda Bull live on-stage, include theatre shows for Sydney and Melbourne and gigs in a few cities that are yet to experience the show.

This will be the third show for both Sydney and Melbourne after Kelly played two outdoor gigs each at Melbourne Zoo and Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

The tour is named after Kelly’s most recent record Paul Kelly Presents The Merri Soul Sessions which was described by the artist himself as “a soul revue type record performed live in the studio with a variety of singers and the one band.” The live show brings that experience to the stage with all the guest musicians featured on the record appearing live on the tour.

The tour is set to satisfy both old and new fans with Kelly performing plenty of classics from his massive back-catalogue alongside tracks from the new album.

These new dates mean the show will have toured for almost three months when it comes to an end in mid-April at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Check below for all the details.
