UPDATE 5/09/19: Confirmed, Paul Kelly Is Set To Headline This Year’s AFL Grand Final.
Grand final season is right around the corner, and it looks like the Big Guns (AFL) might be bringing in the Big Gun (Paul Kelly) for their grand final later this month.
These speculations have started because 3AW’s The Rumour File, via Pedestrian, reported that the AFL will soon be announcing PK as the headlining act, and they’ve been notoriously spot on with these sorts of things. They also reported that Kelly will be joined on the music lineup by Tones And I as well as other acts.
If the rumours are true, Paul Kelly will be the first homegrown headlining talent in a little while for the sporting event of the year, with The Killers and Black Eyed Peas spearheading the musical portion of the show the previous two years.
It’s shaping up to be a busy Q4 for Paul Kelly, as he’s just announced the return of his ‘Making Gravy’ tour which debuted last year. This year he’ll be joined by the likes of Courtney Barnett, Marlon Williams, Kate Miller-Heidke and Thelma Plum.
The 2019 AFL Grand Final will take place on Saturday, 29th September.
