Pennywise have announced that their affairs are now in order, and are ready to come good on the Australian tour, announced for last year but ultimately scrapped. Originally, plans were waylaid after the band’s singer did his back in, but this time round they will be bringing their first-ever vocalist, Jim Lindberg, along for the ride.
The band released a short statement on the update, but seem very pleased with their decision – “We’re happy to announce that Jim is rejoining Pennywise and we’re all looking forward to playing music together again.” Lindberg will be taking the place of Zoli Teglas, who carried the torch for Lindberg up until Pennywise’s recent show at the Hollywood Palladium a couple of weeks ago, a show that will go down in punk rock folklore. So it looks as though this isn’t a quick fix up to make sure the Oz tour happens.
The supports will also be different this time round, with seminal 90s punk rock outfit Face To Face coming in as main support and absolute crowd favourites The Menzingers opening up on the night.
