One of the world’s foremost progressive metal acts, Maryland’s Periphery have announced that they will be embarking on an Australian tour, kicking off in January at The Hi-Fi in Brisbane, followed by shows in Sydney and Melbourne, to be joined by Washingtonians Animals As Leaders.
Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2010, Periphery have become one of the metal scene’s most forward-thinking and unconventional bands, bringing a novel dimension and unique scope to the genre. Their innovative brand of metal will be on full display on their Australian tour.
Animals as Leaders have likewise been praised for the singularity of their sound, which combines elements of progressive metal with the breadth and experimentalism of jazz fusion, which led guitar legend Steve Vai to label them “the future of creative, heavy virtuoso guitar playing.”
Tickets for one of the metal events of the year go on sale 9AM local time on Friday, 22nd November. Readers can check below for all venue and ticketing vendor details.
