Perth’s HyperFest Organisers Say Event May Be Cancelled Due To Slow Ticket Sales

UPDATE: Hyperfest December 2018 Has Now Been Cancelled

Perth’s long-running, all-ages festival HyperFest may be forced to cancel their December edition due to low ticket sales.

In a statement on Facebook, the event organisers write: “All of us at Hyper are extraordinarily proud of the event we’ve organised for this December. Sadly, ticket sales aren’t reflecting the amount of time and effort our team has put into organising this festival.

“As volunteers, music-lovers, and members of the Western Australian music scene, we are asking for your support to see this festival come into fruition.”

They say they feel as though it’s important for the event to go ahead because it’s the only all-ages festival of its size in Western Australia.

“Whether it is as people’s first festival experience or first time performing to a large crowd, Hyper has always been at the forefront for pushing new music to new ears.”

Read their statement in full down below.

The event takes pride in being drug, alcohol, and smoke-free and enjoyed a successful run back in February of this year.

The December edition of HyperFest is (hopefully) set to have acts like DZ Deathrays, Polish Club, and Antonia and the Lazy Susans performing, to name a few.
